H. Paul Casmedes, MD, DDS

Dr. Casmedes was born in Durant, Oklahoma, but shortly thereafter moved to Sherman, Texas where he spent his formative years.  He graduated from Sherman High School in 1976, and then attended The University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.).  After his undergraduate studies were completed, he then went on to complete his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at The University of Texas at Austin in 1982.

Upon completion of his M.B.A., he worked for Arthur Anderson & Company for two years before deciding to make a major career change.  In 1985, he entered dental school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1989.  His interest in surgery led him to seek additional training in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS).  In 1989, he completed a one year fellowship in Anesthesiology, and then entered the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  This program was a six year dual-degree program which included completion of medical school in addition to his training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.  He completed his internship in Anesthesiology in 1993, and subsequently received his Medical Degree (M.D.) in 1994, and his certificate of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1995.

After practicing briefly in the Dallas area, he joined Drs. Buchanan and Jones of Austin Surgical Arts in 1996.  Dr. Casmedes has three children, Christine, Paul, and Courtney.
