R. Michael Patton, DMD, MBA

Dr. R. Michael Patton is a native Texan from Fort Worth. He has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Austin since 1983. Dr. Patton received a Bachelor of Arts degree in microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971, and a Master of Science in microbiology from the University of Kentucky in 1975. He graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 1979 then completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston in June 1983. Recently, in 2007, Dr. Patton received a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in health care management from Texas Technological University in Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Patton joined the Austin Surgical Arts team in 2006. Over the years he has practiced the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He now concentrates on dentoalveolar surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery including dental implants, the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology, and the treatment of oral and facial trauma.

Dr. Patton and his wife of forty years, Shannon, have a daughter Allison, son-in-law Chris, two grandchildren, Logan and Reagan, and a second daughter Brooke. Dr. Patton’s outside interests include travel, music, tennis and spectator sports.
